There are only two mistakes one can make along the road to truth; not going all the way, and not starting. - Buddha

Shamanism

From Alaska to the Andes, from Tibet to Tanzania, Shamanism is a worldwide phenomenon. Virtually every religion has its roots in shamanism, although shamanism is not a religion. It’s a perspective—a way of seeing all things as sacred and living life with dignity, courage and an open heart. Shamanism does not preclude any religion. It simply says that anyone can have a direct experience of the divine without an intermediary. By honoring the sacred essence of everyone and everything, one’s whole life can truly become a spiritual adventure The shaman relates to every form of life as being alive, filled with energy and always communicating something to us. The key is in learning how to receive the communication. Shamans utilize the knowledge that everything is energy to create in their world by using their conscious attention to direct the flow of energy within all forms of life. Energy flows where attention goes. The shaman has little concern for how something works, only that it produces the results that one intends. Shamans are the most flexible, utilitarian and efficient authors of their world. They take the shortest, quickest route to their goals, even if the path tramples on their own concepts or beliefs.

A shaman is a bridge between this world and the invisible world of energy and the spirit. A shaman is very anchored, very present in this world. Being so centered and grounded, a shaman can assist a person to travel into dimensions and see things from a much bigger perspective. Then people can heal because there is more room for them to expand and open to fresh new realities. This expanded awareness from the shaman creates a strong foundation for people to awaken to their own healing power within. The goal of the shaman is always to support the awakening of the soul. The shaman acts as an anchor so the person can reach their own depth and move through their own cellular transformation. In effect, shamans are mystics; their initiation is not one of office or ceremony. The shaman has direct contact with the unseen world. However, historically like all religion, the path of shamanism also was distorted through narrow interpretation, cultural dogmas and fearful beliefs. The resurgence of ancient practices and spiritual traditions in present time has to do with a new awakening (renaissance) of human consciousness, on a much vaster and deeper scale than anything experienced in the planet before

And what is the purpose of Art, if not the perfection of love?

For love is our primal cause, our ultimate destination. Love is our ancient memory of unity, harmony and grace. It is our burden, our adventure, our deep intuition of completeness. It is love that invites us to become timeless and enter in to the Mysteries.

It is love that is our calling, our quest, and our Grail.  It is love that shows us eternity in the flower, and unfolds the Kingdom of Heaven in each of our hearts. It is love alone which fuels Creation, and enchants order from chaos and old night.

Love is our first, final and forever gift, the destiny we can never escape, our connection to holiness and the cosmos. For we are made of the stuff and substance of love’s dreams.  We are not forgotten, fallen angels, but unforgettable light-bearing stars. - Alex Nobel

"Only with awakened hearts are we actually able to fulfill our purpose within the cosmos and take our place in that great dance of divine manifestation.” ~ Cynthia Bourgeault, The Wisdom Way of Knowing

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference! - Robert Frost

“Presume the worst of yourself, you hold yourself back from joy. Presume the worst of others, you hold yourself back from life. You sabotage (yourself) by presuming the worst because that’s what giving into fear is.” - Samuel

The Four Agreements of Shaman by Don Miguel Ruiz

1. Be impeccable with your word. Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.

2. Don’t take anything personally. Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.

3. Don’t make assumptions. Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama.

4. Always do your best. Your best is going to change from moment to moment. It will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstances, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret

Shambhala Guardians

"Those who have been fearless in their search and in their proclamation belong to the lineage of master warriors, whatever their religion, philosophy or creed. They are leaders and gaurdians of human wisdom. They are fearless in their expression of gentleness and genuineness on behalf of all sentient beings. In the midst of degradation, the fathers (fearlessness) and mothers (gentleness) of shambhala make it possible to contemplate enlightened society." - Trungpa Rinpoche

Longing For Truth

The Bible declares, "You will know the truth and the truth will make you free." (John 8:32) There is tremendous power in knowing the truth of a situation. When we are willing to know the truth, we are then free to engage our minds and hearts in a response that is both courageous and wise. Truth begins with understanding, and understanding begins by listening. "Come, let us reason." It is not an act of weakness. It is the very way by which we discover pathways to peace. "Come, let us reason together," says the Lord (Isaiah 1:18)

"Those, who shall be a lamp unto themselves, shall betake themselves to no external refuge, but holding fast to the Truth as their lamp, and holding fast to the Truth as their refuge, they shall reach the topmost height." - Buddha's Farewell Message to Ananda

Satyagraha is a Sanskrit term popularized by Gandhi during his non-violent non-co-operation movements . It means any effort to discover, discern, obtain or apply "Satya' or 'Truth' to correct injustice in any form. It is based on engagement of the "Soul power" based on universal love and universal truth. It apparently works slowly and invisibly as a force of conscious evolution, but its effects are more enduring and irreversible.

Serenity Prayer

"Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to .change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference between the two." - R.N.

Be the Change

Life expresses itself at many different levels of consciousness or self-awareness. Higher the level of consciousness, the greater the degree of self-determination, the greater the ability to choose and decide, announce and declare, express and fulfill, the grandest notion one has of who and what one is.

Every act is an act of self-definition. It is when you decide ahead of time that your inner state is going to be peaceful and loving, irrespective of outer situation, it completely shifts the axis of your experience. It places the source of what you desire within you, no matter what the outer moment brings to you. The Outer world loses its power over you. This is genuine power. The kind of power that changes lives and changes the world.

Change your beliefs because your new beliefs more accurately announce who you are. Change is an act of freedom, an act of creation (new beliefs) and not an act of compliance or obedience. Creation is the only act of evolution. Seek not, therefore to change the world. Seek to BE the change you wish to SEE in the world.

Aloha and Namaste

In the Hawaiian language, aloha stands for much more than just "hello" or "goodbye" or "love." Its deeper meaning is "the joyful (oha) sharing (alo) of life energy (ha) in the present (alo)."

Namaste literally means "I humbly bow to you," from the Sanskrit: Namas: "to bow, obeisance, reverential salutation", and Te: "to you". It is commonly accompanied by a slight bow made with the hands pressed together, palms touching, in front of the heart. In a religious context this word can be taken to mean any of these: The Spirit in me meets the same Spirit in you I salute the divine in you I bring together my body and soul, focusing my divine potential, and bow to the same potential within you. In other words, it recognizes the equality of all, and pays honor to the sacredness of all.

The Willing Heart by Arlen Price

Where the heart is willing, it will find a thousand ways. Where it is unwilling, it will find a thousand excuses.

We are the Universe exploring itself! There is nothing we cannot be, do and have, as long as You and I are dreaming unlimited reality and choosing our focus here and now from a vastly expanded perspective of infinite possibilities! Enjoy the journey! - S.Barua

Attitude by Charles Swindoll

The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude, to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness, or skill. It will make or break a company...a church... a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice every day regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We cannot change our past... we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude... I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes.
